The scope of the conference includes the current status of the water and sanitation sectors in Egypt. Highlights are government strategies with regard to water challenges & scarcity; and action taken to face the challenges. Desalination, Wastewater reuse, sludge application & digital transformation initiatives in the sector are examined.

In 2024, the IWWI conference joined forces with the ARWADEX conference, adding a highlight to the topic of desalination.
